Charging stations
Charging hardware is selected based on operational needs and fully validated for compatibility with Volvo vehicles. Through close collaboration with trusted OEM partners, every charger is continuously tested and quality approved aiming to provide reliable performance from day one.
Support
We aim to provide support before, during, and after the depot charge system goes live. Our team stays involved to handle any technical questions, software integrations, or system updates. We are continuously working to expand our support offering to ensure everything is running smoothly as your fleet scales, with fast response time for on-site repairs.
Installation
Volvo Energy takes charge of the entire installation process – from site assessment and planning to commissioning including testing and hand-over. We coordinate with local charging partners and utility providers to streamline setup and minimize disruptions.

Depot charging services
Our depot charging solutions are supported by various digital depot charging services that make daily operations easier. They cut complexity by automating tasks such as charging plans and handling deviations with minimal disruption. Operators get real-time insights into vehicle and charger status, along with detailed reports that combine live and historical data from every session.
Charging stations
We work with a selected group of hardware suppliers to offer a full range of premium high-performance chargers, supporting everything from overnight to fast charging.

BESS
Our Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS) can make charging sites more efficient and cost-effective by storing electricity during low-price periods and releasing it at peak demand. It can connect with charging solutions and local grid markets, supporting peak shaving, load shifting, and backup power to ensure reliable depot operations and a seamless charging experience for fleets and customers.

Smarter charging for EV fleets from preferred suppliers
To secure depot charging success and improve uptime, Volvo Energy works with carefully chosen charger suppliers, providing broad market coverage and a proven range of high-quality technology.
Preferred chargers have been tested with selected Volvo Group vehicles. They are provided under the suppliers’ warranties only, and the Volvo Group is not responsible for the performance, functionality, safety, or use of any preferred charger.

We offer two types of EV truck chargers:
- Overnight/off-shift chargers for long, slow charging periods.
- Opportunity/mid-shift chargers for quick charges during short breaks. These options provide flexibility to suit your charging needs and schedule.
Support to buy a charger for your vehicle can be given by your local dealership.
The duration to charge an EV truck at a depot charging station can vary based on the power level of the charger. If you're using a charger with a low power level, it generally takes about 8-9 hours. However, with a high power level charger, you can expect it to take roughly 1.5-2 hours. Remember, these times are approximations, and actual charging times may vary slightly.
Charging Management is a depot charging solution available in Volvo Connect, designed to provide efficient and cost-effective charging solutions for your fleet. With this service, you gain a comprehensive overview of your fleet's charging status, including real-time vehicle charging updates, depot charger statuses, and charging history. Additionally, you can customize reports to suit your needs and quickly identify vehicles requiring attention, helping you streamline operations, reduce uncertainties, and optimize performance.
Fleet management solution refers to different types of software to support in managing your vehicles and charging – depot planning, monitoring to maximize uptime, energy management, etc. This includes features such as smart load balancing and remote diagnostics to reduce energy costs and improve reliability. Charging Management is an example of such a solution.
