The base offering provides the essential services and support needed to operate and manage the solution throughout its lifecycle.
The Volvo Energy Management System (VEMS) connects battery energy storage systems to a secure cloud platform, providing continuous monitoring, intelligent control, and valuable operational insights. By optimizing energy flows in real time, it helps improve system performance, support grid stability, and enable applications such as EV charging, peak shaving, and load balancing.
For EV charging sites, the Volvo EMS manages power demand in real time, allowing more charging capacity than the site’s grid connection would otherwise support.
Cybersecurity is built into every layer of the solution. The BESS, Site Controller and Cloud EMS are secure by design and hardened by default, with multi-layered defence applied across hardware, firmware, communications and cloud.
Aligned with IEC 62443, ISO27001 and built to support your NIS2 obligations, we combine zero-trust remote access with an AI powered Firewall system and around-the-clock monitoring via our Cyber Defence Center. With continuous monitoring, and European data hosting, the platform safeguards critical data and system integrity, supporting secure and reliable performance.
The PU2000 is built to Volvo Group standards for quality and safety. Its design aligns with recognized standards, including IEC 62619 for battery safety and IEC 62933-5-2 for system-level safety, among others.
Safety measures include thermal management, fire detection and suppression, supported by rigorous testing at component and system level. The PU2000 has undergone UL Large-Scale Fire Testing as part of a broader testing approach that extends beyond standard certification requirements, with testing at unit, installation and large-scale levels.
Technical support and warranty are included from day one, with service levels tailored to the solution and operational needs.
A solid foundation for reliable operation, with the flexibility to add support as needs evolve.
